Job Description
We are looking for a skilled VMC Machine Operator with good technical knowledge and hands-on experience in operating Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines, machine setup, tool setting, engineering drawing interpretation, and precision machining.
Key Responsibilities
Operate VMC machines to manufacture precision components as per production requirements.
Perform machine setup, tool setting, and workpiece clamping.
Select and install suitable cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Identify and troubleshoot machining problems, including tool chattering and vibration.
Monitor machining operations and maintain dimensional accuracy.
Inspect finished components using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, and other measuring instruments.
Maintain product quality and follow production schedules.
Follow machine safety procedures and maintain workplace cleanliness.
Required Skills & Technical Knowledge
Good technical knowledge of VMC machine operation.
Hands-on experience in machine setup and tool setting.
Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and workpiece clamping.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot tool chattering and machining vibrations.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T.
Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper and Micrometer.
Understanding of machining parameters such as speed, feed, and depth of cut.
Basic knowledge of CNC controllers and machining programs.
Educational Qualification
12th Pass, ITI, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade may also be considered.
Experience
Candidates with relevant hands-on VMC machining experience are preferred.
